FC2 Releases Statement regarding the Denied Pepco-Exelon Merger

This decision is a disappointment not just for Exelon and Pepco but the District of Columbia business community as a whole. The merger would bring substantial and tangible benefits for the District of Columbia’s citizens and economy with no downside. The benefits for D.C. now in jeopardy include $33.75 million for customers and tens of million more in savings over the next 10 years, guaranteed levels of charitable contributions, guaranteed improvements in service reliability, faster restoration after major storms and new jobs in the District. The merger is in the interests of the District as a whole and the continued growth of the business community, and today’s decision is not.
