AWT Leads Yearlong Celebration of the Anacostia River Corridor
The Anacostia Waterfront Trust (AWT) has joined with the National Park Service, civic organizations and government agencies to launch “The Year of the Anacostia”, a yearlong celebration of the Anacostia River corridor in 2018, which includes the 100th anniversary of Anacostia Park and the bicentennial of Frederick Douglass’ birth. Throughout the year organizations will be seeking support to host events, activities, programs and projects along the Anacostia River to celebrate the ecological restoration, economic growth and community unity within the Anacostia watershed.
