FC2 Salutes Trustee Joe Stettinius
Joe Stettinius , Chief Executive of the Americas for Cushman & Wakefield Inc. and FC2 trustee suffered a fatal heart attack at his farm in Upperville last Thursday. He was 55 years old. He is survived by his wife, Regina, and two children, Alexander and Isabelle. The leadership, trustees, and staff of the Federal City Council send our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.

Will A Ban on School Suspensions Lead to Discipline Reform?
The DCPC released a new report assessing the proposed “Student Fair Access to School Act of 2017”, which prohibits out-of-school suspensions aside from the most extreme disciplinary incidents. Nationally, this disciplinary policy has met with mixed signs of success. If the bill is enacted, the proposed partial ban would have an immediate and vast impact on the District of Columbia’s schools and students.

Conceived by Federal City Council’s Anthony Williams, the new website is a go-to place for cities to learn about novel solutions to thorny issues. Long known as a center for smart city transportation, Pittsburgh leaders are working to combine technology, energy, transportation and infrastructure to transform urban mobility.

The Year of the Anacostia
AWT began 2018 with the launch of the "Year of the Anacostia," a yearlong celebration of the Anacostia River corridor, followed by Mayor Muriel Bowser’s announcement of major conservation and investment commitments in support of the Kingman Island and Heritage Island Planning and Feasibility Study. Kingman and Heritage Islands represent a unique natural space in the District and are home to important and rare ecosystems.
