Anacostia River Tunnel Project Completion
The first phase of the DC Water Clean Rivers Project is nearly complete. Construction of the Anacostia River Tunnel Project, which began in June 2013, is the second in a series of four tunnels that will mitigate combined sewer overflows into the Anacostia River. The Clean Rivers Project is a massive infrastructure and support program designed to capture and clean wastewater during rainfalls before it reaches our rivers.

Conceived by Federal City Council’s Anthony Williams, the website is a go-to place for cities to learn about novel solutions to thorny issues. Learn how Boston created a user-friendly dashboard to share key metrics of the city’s plan, Imagine Boston 2030, through an open-data portal, allowing residents to measure the plan’s progress and envision the city’s future.
